Children between the ages of 2 and 5 years old are eligible for enrollment in the Martha Best Children’s Center. Families may choose between two program options designed to support early learning, social development, and readiness for kindergarten.

In addition to our early childhood programs, MBCC also provides care for Kindergarten through 3rd grade students during after‑school hours and on school closure days, offering a safe, structured, and supportive environment for school‑age children.

ENROLLMENT PROCESS

  • Please complete an application and we will contact you with details about the class(es) you have requested. Families are contacted using the email address and phone number listed on the application. If any of that information changes you need to contact the Center (Krystal@fbclex.org or 336-245-9612).

  • Once your application has been received the child will stay on the waitlist:

    • until they are offered a spot

    • the parent asks to have them removed

    • enrollment begins for the next academic year

MBCC Enrollment Offers & Waitlist

In the spring of each year MBCC extends enrollment offers for both the full‑day and half‑day programs. As families decline spots, they will be offered to the next family on the waitlist. While we can’t predict when additional spots may open, we will move quickly when they do. Once an application is completed, we ask parents to check their email and voicemail regularly and to promptly follow any directions provided so your                                                              child does not lose their spot

  📌 A Few Important Reminders

  • Placing your child on the waitlist before their 2nd birthday                                                          does not guarantee a spot when they turn two.

  • Each age group has a state‑regulated limit on how many children                                            can be enrolled in each classroom.

After School Care

MBCC offers After School Care for children in Kindergarten through Third Grade.

Transportation: MBCC does not provide transportation to our Center. In previous years, Lexington City Schools has provided transportation for students enrolled in our program; however, families must confirm with the school or district to ensure this service is still available. Children attending other schools or districts are welcome to enroll but must provide their own transportation.

Care on Non‑School Days: Childcare is available for After School students on days when Lexington City Schools are closed for holidays and teacher workdays. An additional daily fee applies for these full‑day care options. We also make every effort to provide care when Lexington City Schools close unexpectedly due to weather or other emergencies.

Summer Care: During the summer months, based on the Lexington City Schools calendar, children enrolled in the After School Program are considered part of the Regular MBCC Program.
