ABOUT
The Martha Best Children's Center of First Baptist Church was started in September 1968 as a Day Care and Kindergarten program that served 42 children, 3 - 5 years of age.
The Children's Center now includes Child Care for 64 children, 2 - 5 years of age; half-day Nursery School for 78 children in 2, 3 and 4 year old programs; and After School Care for 18 children, grades K - 3. Our total enrollment potential is 160; our attendance capacity is 120.
Hours of operation are 7:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m., Monday - Friday. We are licensed by the North Carolina Department of Human Resources, Division of Child Development and Early Education. We have a 4 Star Rated License.
The purpose of the Martha Best Children's Center program is to provide, in a safe and nurturing environment, child care services, nursery school experiences and after school care for the children who are enrolled.
The Children's Center is an integral program of the First Baptist Church and as such relates with other church programs through appropriate church committees and structure.
Under responsible supervision and guidance, the emphasis of the program is focused on the total development of the child as it relates to physical, social, emotional, intellectual and spiritual development.
